Based on the legendary original Colt Government 1911, this .22 L.R. Pistol sports German quality & craftsmanship.

The dedicated .22 long rifle platform used for this Colt Government 1911 .22 Series is a new, licensed reproduction available in three rimfire variants-Government models 1911, 1911 Rail Gun, and 1911 Gold Cup. All models are in the popular 1911-A1 style.

All three Colt Government rimfire models are dedicated .22 L.R.s, but they're engineered in true replica form with fully functioning thumb and grip safeties and the 1911's authentic half-cock mechanism. Grips and sights can be interchanged with a skeleton trigger, combat-style sights, beavertail grip safety, extended thumb safety, and a commander-style hammer.

Great gun

I bought this today and I am very pleased with it. I hadn't planned on buying this til I actually saw it and was able to handle it. It looks like the real thing, a .45 that is. It's a nice full size 1911 but shoots the inexpensive .22LR. I've seen other 1911 style .22's but they were a smaller size than the real thing or just looked cheap, I wanted the full size and this was it. Took the gun straight out after purchase and put 50 flawless rounds through it. It fed and shot smooth, accurate too. I've never shot a new gun right out of the box without a good cleaning before but said the heck with it. Thought it'd be a good test for it to see if it worked well, it did! The other reason I did this is because the .22LR is so dirty that I didn't want to do a detail job on the gun just to then head out and dirty it up, only wanted to clean it once. Break down is simple and so is putting it back together. For the money you can't go wrong with this gun if this is something you're looking for. My only complaint is that this gun only comes with one magazine (12 round) which I don't understand. Gun makers really shouldn't do that. Trigger is decent enough but could be a smidge lighter in my opinion, just need to get used to it I Guess. Maybe it will soften up some after a few hundred rounds. Overall, I think I will be extremely happy with my new 1911 style .22 pistol.
